Timeless Communications, Inc., publisher of the highly
successful entertainment technology trade magazine,
Pro Lights and Staging News, and the annual Event Production
Directory is pleased to announce the appointment of
industry veteran, Bill Evans, to the position of Editor
of Front of House (FOH), the new monthly magazine for
the live sound industry scheduled for an October 2002
launch. Mr. Evans will assume the editorial helm at
FOH beginning July 15.
Most recently, Mr. Evans was Editor-in-Chief of GIG
Magazine, the publication for working musicians. A highly
respected entertainment industry journalist, Mr. Evans
brings substantial live sound reporting experience and
a solid news background to FOH. A working musician and
sound technician who gigs regularly in Southern California,
Mr. Evans has extensive personal knowledge of the information
needs of the live event sound professional.
"I'm very excited about the upcoming launch of
Front of House," said Evans. "The live sound
industry needs a publication that is totally committed
to covering its unique issues and concerns. Existing
audio publications have put the editorial emphasis on
other segments of the sound business such as broadcast,
recording, and replication to such a degree that live
sound articles are relegated to the back of the magazine.
The professional who makes his or her living from live
event sound doesn't want to flip to page 65 to find
editorial content relevant to their business. FOH will
fill a void in the market by serving the information
needs of today's live sound professionals from cover
to cover."

"We are extremely fortunate to have Bill Evans on board
as the Editor for Front of House," said Terry Lowe, President
of Timeless Communications, Inc. "He is a veteran journalist
with impeccable credentials who is widely respected throughout
the entertainment industry. What brought Bill to our attention
was his well-known column in GIG called "Front of House."
That we are using the same industry term for the title of
our new magazine is serendipitous to say the least."
FOH's sister publication, Pro Lights and Staging News (PLSN),
has become the number one book in its market since its launch
in 1999. PLSN's successful editorial format emphasizes industry
news and product information and will serve as a model for
FOH. Says Mr. Evans, "What most attracted me to this
position was how Timeless Communications has built PLSN into
the unqualified industry leader in such a short time. You
can't do that without listening to the industry's concerns
and translating that into outstanding editorial that delivers
the information readers depend on to run their businesses.
Listening to reader's needs is the cornerstone of my publishing
philosophy. It will be a pleasure to work with a publishing
team who shares the same convictions."
A resident of Altadena, California, Mr. Evans will be based
in the Timeless Communications headquarters in nearby Tarzana.
